NATIONAL TRAILS DAY – Share With All Trail User Groups!
Each year on the first Saturday in June it is National Trails Day. Events held throughout the United States help promote awareness of the wide variety of benefits that trails provide, encourage people to discover their local trials, raise awareness of trail issues and instill excitement for the outdoors.
National Trails Day is also an opportunity to thank the many volunteers, land agencies, trail developers, park employees, rangers for their help in developing and maintaining the trails.
NITRO will be hosting an additional work day this Saturday! Special projects include armoring, doing some woodwork and signage. We will also fire up the grill for lunch!
If you are not comfortable with rocks and wood bring you trimmer and we can point you in the direction of weeds to wack. Or you can hang with us at the NITRO table at the Trail Head. There is something for everyone! Hope to see you there!
What to bring with you: Gloves, water pack/bottles/cooler, long pants, good shoes and a great appreciation for our trails!
Next up: Saturday, June 11 – Berms on Frog Pond! 10:00am at the Trail Head.
